The Lives of the Deceased by Jersey Campbell
I've abandoned my consistent essays on shit no one cares about (but me) for the time being because I'm exploring other writing styles, namely poetry. Don't worry though, I won't dedicate all my time to writing this mushy, abstract nonsense people love so much.
This poem is for an anthology friend of VERGE Chosen Lyric is whipping up that speaks on addiction... thought it would be nice to share it with the five fans of VW.

JC and NYC Rob on the radio and shit
This past weekend, Jersey Campbell and NYC Robert- on behalf of VERGE- were invited to Best Kept Secret. Judging by the name, we're guessing some of y'all don't know what Best Kept Secret is... let's clear it up. It is a web radio show on the SUNY Old Westbury Web Radio network hosted by Lady Rae. But shhh, keep it a secret.
Here is a brief clip from the interview showing our very own JC performing some poetry for the listeners. Yeah, we video record radio shows, because there are no morals. Listen.. and be enthralled.

It's about time by Jersey Campbell
Time lacks the eternal strength it is attributed
For with time our physical beings become old, brittle, stale
and feeble
With time, rises fade while roses bloom
With time, eyes observe cycles of birth and death
So with time, we live
With time, we seek a fulfillment of magnificent proportions
Yet in time, the sands of the hourglass eventually run out,
only to be flipped over, so that another cycle may begin
The meaning is too elusive, so with time we grow and learn
Only for the hourglass to be flipped over once again
Lessons re-learned and new flowers bloom
In time, we forget all truths granted to us because when the
hourglass flips, time resets
Time is no more eternal than the souls traveling through its
corridors
But what a novel concept! Time ushers enlightenment… a spiritual
awakening is an inevitable result
The only inevitability, is the loss of time itself and the
eventual resurrection of the eternal paradox
A realization is in order. An epiphany of divine nature
Time waits for no man, and no man will wait for time
In time we act, decisions made determining the fate of our
lives which, in time, will end in death
It is with time we grow, and in time we decompose
An inquiry: what have we learned? In which way have we
grown?
Time is simply a paradigm
Moments in mirrors which mimic the times passed
Reflections of fallen eras haunt our contemporary dreams
With time we become corrupt
In time our minds expand to see the vast wasteland that was
once promise and hope
The hourglass is reset, and time, laid to rest

**Vicarious World's Best of the Month**: The June Edition
Good day folks. What a month here at VW. This month saw the debut of VERGE, "an organization dedicated to self-expression, intellectual engagement, and productive networking." They had their first Open Mic Night, and we're hearing it was great success! Not to be outdone by anyone, JC was resurrected and promptly went about carrying the blog on his back do. Brother even wrote two poems! Up is down and down is up, dogs are humping cats, NYC Rob is physically attracted to men, mass hysteria all around!

A HUGE friend of Vicarious World (and soon to be contributor) has a couple of blogs we thought you would find interesting. He describes himself as a rebel, with a cause of course. Looks like Jersey Campbell has found a new friend. He writes about social/political/economical issues (and even proposes solutions!), as well as poetry that can make even the most uptight women swoon. Trust us, we don't recommend that which doesn't deserve recommending.

Jersey Campbell's notebook ramblings: return of the mac
emotions go like breezes through the wind
they ride, oscillating from one extreme to the next
you never know where they will take you
don't try and analyze these feelings, these neurons in your brain firing at all different angles
the magic will be lost
replaced by stifling reality
the winds of emotion become still, and nothing becomes everything
roars are now whispers, semblances
barely recognizable once they are thought of
think less, act more
emotion is the enemy of reason, but who needs reason when these emotions feel so complete
be still, and let the wind flow
ground yourself in reality, allow yourself to be swayed
be wary, lest the wind carry your soul too far
for while it is yours
it can be lost in the inevitable hurricane
unfound, gone forever, while the winds sweep you violently from climate to climate
passion is exciting
think more, act less
for actions done without thought are cruel

**Vicarious World's Best of the Month**: The March Edition
Take a break from buying Mega Million lotto tickets folks, Vicarious World's Best of the Month returns with some scintillating stuff ('sup Clark Kellogg?). Looks like the month of March is now "poetry month" here at Vicarious World. Well, poetry month for all the Wannabe Writers except for Jersey Campbell of course. Jersey Campbell says he doesn't believe in poetry... after awhile you learn to just tune him out- he gets annoying. The Team of Wannabe Writers cranked another batch of dandies fresh out the oven and ready to be digested. From NYC Rob's subtly innocent short-form poetry to Mr. Sart's reflective, thought-provoking poetry, we've got a lot goin' on here. Dig in folks. Read... and be merry.

Inside Out by K.V. Sart
The beard on my face,
Is just a trace,
Of the man I am,
Judged like a fan,
Of Communism and Anarchy,
As once was Darwinism and Russian royalty.
Neurotic thoughts rule the mind,
But not the mouth,
We are espoused,
To outcast the last of the original and different,
In contrast to everything we have been taught,
Seen, learned, discovered, and thought.
The mind has been reserved,
For science and math so we can learn,
The intricacies of space and time
Which leaves undefined,
What we cannot see,
What is difficult to know.
It is a tiny window,
Through which we observe the world,
Until we accept the possibility,
That anything is possible,
That we can right our wrongs,
With love to all,
And acceptance for those individually,
Who think and do differently,
And don’t look down on your narrow affinities,

Better Than a Forehead Kiss. By NYC Robert
I want to touch and caress her. I want to make her feel angelically aroused.
Yes that’s the feeling. My hand cupped around her neck, holding her close, so close our lips meet. As we slowly and gently share a bond; her hands come around my neck, and mine around hers. I however, will not stop there. I continue to move my hands lower and lower, but not fast, instead in a steady caressing pace.
